A scholarship for studio teachers!
FESST: Further Education Scholarship for Studio Teachers
$500 Award Presented Annually
♪ Applicant must be an ARMTA member or affiliate or be currently studying with an ARMTA member in northern Alberta. This includes the branches: Red Deer, Lloydminster, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie and Edmonton.
♪ While preference will be given to teachers in a study program leading to professional certification such as an associate diploma or a Bachelor of Music degree, all further music education projects will be considered.
♪ The award will be presented at the ARMTA Edmonton Branch AGM in June of each year.
♪ Application Deadline: February 15 of each year.
When submitting the application you will need to have the following documents ready to upload:
- Resume of musical and academic education
- Description of your teaching experience to date (number of years taught, size of class and level of students)
- Proposed plan of study
- Tentative budget (instruction fees, travel expenses, child care, and possible extenuating financial circumstances)
- Plan for future studio teaching: describe your aspirations and how this scholarship will enhance and further benefit your students’ progress in your teaching studio
- A letter of reference, preferably from your ARMTA teacher, or pedagogy instructor, or colleague
