The ARMTA Edmonton Branch is proud to support students with scholarships and awards. Part of our member fees are put towards our goal of encouraging students towards excellence. The following is a summary of the awards that we offer each year:
- Awards Recital – students of ARMTA teachers who receive the highest marks with Royal Conservatory and Conservatory Canada exams each year receive awards from $50 to $100 for a total of over $1500 each year.
- Edmonton Music & Speech Arts Festival (formerly Kiwanis)- a total of $500 is awarded each year.
- Northern Alberta Concerto Competition – $250 for Brass and Voice awards
- MacEwan University Fall Festival – $200
- Fort Saskatchewan Music Festival – $50
- St. Albert Rotary Music Festival – $50
- Parkland Music Teachers Association – $50
- Sherwood Park Music Festival – $50
- Leduc Music Festival – $50
We also have scholarship funds that we maintain that support the following scholarships:
- Northern Alberta Concerto Competition – $1000 for Junior and Senior Piano awards every other year
- Alberta Round of the CFMTA National Piano Competition – $250 every other year
- Airth Award – $150 is given to the student with the highest mark in Royal Conservatory Written Pedagogy.
- Joyce Oliver Memorial Award – $100 awarded at the Edmonton Music & Speech Arts Festival
ARMTA Edmonton also supports other music organizations as we work towards our common goal of promoting music with our students and in the community:
- Contemporary Showcase – $500
- Edmonton Symphony Orchestra – $250
- Alberta Piano Teacher’s Association – $100
