Clementi Sonatina Project 2024- 2025

Pre-registration: November 6-20, 2024

To Participate:

  • Online pre-registration is opened from November 6-20, 2024.
  • 9 participants will be chosen in a lottery process by the Clementi Sonatina Project committee.
  • An email will be sent out to participants who are selected. Registration is confirmed when payment is received.

General Information:

  • Teachers submitting students must be a current ARMTA Edmonton Branch member.
  • Each teacher may submit one student. If we do not have enough performers, we will accept more students per teacher.
  • Only one performer per movement will be permitted. Therefore, registrants will need to submit two movements (1st and 2nd choice) in case that they are selected as a participant but their 1st choice is already taken.
  • An email will be sent out to participants who are selected and payment will be due immediately. Registration is confirmed when payment is received.
  • Secure preparation is required but memorization is not required.
  • Performance protocol, such as attire and bowing, is to be guided by the teacher.
  • This is a workshop style performance event. There are no prior rehearsals.
  • No recording of any kind is permitted at the event.
  • Pianists are expected to stay for the entire event from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
  • Young children attending as guests of the performers must be able to remain quietly for the duration of the event.

Students have the opportunity to play one movement of the Clementi Sonatinas, Op. 36, with members of the Edmonton Youth Orchestra, directed by Mr. Michel Massey, in a workshop style performance setting. Mr. Massey has arranged the 2nd piano parts for strings.
